New Orleans Brand DatMamboShirt Launches Boys’ Mardi Gras Shirts for Carnival

NEW ORLEANS – Just in time for Carnival season, New Orleans-based clothing brand DatMamboShirt expands its signature Mardi Gras style to the next generation. For the first time since launching in 2018, the locally-owned company is introducing boys’ Mardi Gras shirts, making it easier than ever for families to celebrate together in authentic New Orleans fashion.

Founded by native New Orleanian Claiborne Schmidt, DatMamboShirt is known for its men’s casual shirts inspired by traditional Latin American guayaberas and embroidered with iconic New Orleans symbols. Crafted from a lightweight linen-cotton blend, the team shares the shirts are designed for comfort and style during warm-weather traditions such as Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest and springtime celebrations.

The new boys’ collection is available in sizes 4/5, 6/7, 8/9, 10/11 and 12/13. With this launch, DatMamboShirt now offers a full size range from boys’ size 4 through men’s XXXL, allowing dads, sons and families to coordinate their Mardi Gras looks across generations.

“DatMamboShirt started as a Mardi Gras shirt, so it felt natural to bring that same spirit to kids,” said Schmidt about the shirts. “We’ve had customers ask for years if we’d ever make shirts for boys. Now families can celebrate Mardi Gras together in the same New Orleans style.”

The team shares the expansion reflects the family-driven roots of the company. Since its early days, Schmidt’s wife, Isabel, and their children have helped support and promote the brand, which has grown from a single Mardi Gras design into a recognized local favorite.

DatMamboShirts are available at www.datmamboshirt.com and at select local retailers throughout the New Orleans area. The boys’ Mardi Gras shirts are being released in limited quantities for the 2026 Carnival season.
