Win Discounted Tickets to KIMBERLY AKIMBO at The Saenger

NEW ORLEANS – Broadway in New Orleans, presented by Entergy’s upcoming 5-time Tony Award-winning Best Musical, KIMBERLY AKIMBO, has announced a lottery ticket policy. The Saenger Theatre will be partnering with the digital ticket lottery platform Lucky Seat. On Friday, Oct. 3, participants will have a chance to win $39 tickets for the New Orleans engagement, playing at the Saenger Theatre from Oct. 7-12.

Entries for shows at The Saenger Theatre will close at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 3. Lucky Seat will send an email to winners starting at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 3, and will continue throughout the day as needed. Winners will have until 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 3, to claim and purchase their tickets. Participants must have a Lucky Seat account to participate in the lottery. Entrants may create an account on LuckySeat.com to enter.

Tickets are subject to availability. Limit of two tickets per patron. Tickets can be picked up at the Box Office at The Saenger Theatre with a photo ID starting one hour before the performance time.

Broadway in New Orleans, presented by Entergy, will also offer special Student Rush Tickets for $30 to the New Orleans engagement of KIMBERLY AKIMBO. Students simply need to bring valid college student identification with them to the Saenger Theatre Box Office beginning two hours prior to each performance. The Student Rush Ticket price will be valid for evening performances ONLY with a two-ticket limit per student ID. Student Rush Tickets are subject to restrictions.

  • Wednesday, Oct. 8 – 7:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, Oct. 9 – 7:30 p.m.
  • Friday, Oct. 10 – 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, Oct. 11 – 2:00 p.m. & 7:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, Oct. 12 – 1:00 p.m. & 6:30 p.m.

ABOUT THE SHOW

Kimberly is about to turn 16 and recently moved with her family to a new town in suburban New Jersey. In this “howlingly funny heartbreaker of a show” (The New Yorker), Kim is forced to navigate family dysfunction, a rare genetic condition, her first crush…and possible felony charges. Ever the optimist, she is determined to find happiness against all odds and embark on a great adventure.

Named BEST MUSICAL by the Tony Awards, New York Drama Critics Circle, The Drama Desk Awards, The Lucille Lortel Awards, and The Outer Critics Circle Awards, KIMBERLY AKIMBO is also the winner of four additional Tony Awards: Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical, Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical, Best Score (David Lindsay-Abaire and Jeanine Tesori), and Best Book (David Lindsay-Abaire). With her win for KIMBERLY AKIMBO, Jeanine Tesori made history as the first female composer to win two Tony Awards for Best Score.

KIMBERLY AKIMBO features scenic design by David Zinn, costume design by Sarah Laux, lighting design by Jeanette Oi-Suk Yew, sound design by Kai Harada, projection design by Lucy MacKinnon, and wig, hair, and make-up design by J. Jared Janas. The production’s Music Supervisor is Chris Fenwick and the Music Director is Leigh DelanoKIMBERLY AKIMBO features orchestrations by Tony Award nominee John Clancy, with additional orchestrations by Macy Schmidt. The Production Supervisor is Arabella Powell, the Production Stage Manager is Shawn Pennington and casting is by The Telsey Office, Craig Burns, CSA.

The North American Tour of KIMBERLY AKIMBO is produced by David Stone, The Atlantic Theater Company, James L. Nederlander, LaChanze, John Gore, Patrick Catullo, and Aaron Glick.

KIMBERLY AKIMBO opened on Broadway to unanimous rave reviews on Nov. 10, 2022, following its world premiere at the Atlantic Theater Company in November 2021. Upon closing on Broadway, KIMBERLY AKIMBO played 32 previews and 612 performances.
