Pontchartrain Conservancy Hosts JAWS Movie Night at The Lighthouse

Celebrate the nautical thriller’s 50th anniversary on the lakefront

NEW ORLEANS — Friday, Oct. 24 Pontchartrain Conservancy is excited to offer community members the opportunity to attend a free showing of JAWS at the New Canal Lighthouse located at 8001 Lakeshore Dr. in New Orleans as part of New Orleans Recreation Development Commission’s (NORD) fall Movie in the Park series. Gates will open at 6 p.m., with the movie starting at dusk.

“We are excited to welcome community members out to the lighthouse to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the nautical thriller JAWS,” said Kristi Trail, executive director of Pontchartrain Conservancy. “With the lake as a backdrop, this is sure to make for an unforgettable experience.”

Community members are invited to come out to the Lighthouse to enjoy the movie and learn more about the importance of Lake Pontchartrain to our area. In addition to educational resources, Pontchartrain Conservancy will be offering snack and beverage options for sale, including beer.
