NEW ORLEANS – The Ogden Museum of Southern Art invites guests to join them Oct. 11, along with Louisiana Contemporary, presented by The Helis Foundation, artist Paige Valente in a mixed media textile workshop.
The day begins with a brief artist-led discussion of her artwork in Louisiana Contemporary, presented by The Helis Foundation. Then, exploring New Orleans’ sense of place and community, participants will paint images on the textile square. Details will be added using mixed media such as embroidery and fabric collage.
The project is finalized by adhering the square to a tote bag for “making groceries” or adding the square to a community quilt created with the group.
All workshops are conducted in a friendly and welcoming environment. All materials are provided and all levels are welcomed.
