NEW ORLEANS — Now That’s What I Call Queer is proud to present Dearly Beloved, a one-night-only queer mass wedding and dance party reimagining what love and celebration can look like.
Set against the backdrop of Soulet Muse, an 1850s Creole townhouse in the Lower Garden District, Dearly Beloved offers couples an opportunity to say “I do” (or “I still do”) in a beautiful, affirming, and accessible way.
The event is designed to make weddings more inclusive, joyful, and affordable while disrupting traditional wedding norms. Couples can tie the knot for $250.00, renew their vows for $150.00, or simply attend as a guest and dance the night away for $37.50-$75.00.
Local sponsors include Soulet Muse, Undergrowth Coffee, Cloud Brine Creative, Pair of Violets, Warm Advice, Hype Haus, and more.
“In this moment, joy is resistance and queer love deserves to be celebrated loudly, publicly, and unapologetically,” says Kendall Burke, New Orleans-based DJ Warm Advice and founder of Now That’s What I Call Queer. “We wanted to create something that feels beautiful, intentional, and accessible, while also collaborating with and highlighting inclusive, affirming vendors and businesses in New Orleans.”
The idea for Dearly Beloved began years ago when co-creator Kristin Barber jokingly suggested hosting a “mass wedding.” What started as an offhand comment between friends evolved into a decade-long passion for celebrating love in all its forms.
Over the past twelve years, Kristin has officiated dozens of weddings around the world (including Antarctica), from backyard elopements and courthouse ceremonies to elaborate destination weddings. Her ceremonies bring a mix of humor, warmth, and imagination to every wedding.
Kendall (DJ Warm Advice) has spent the past three years building inclusive dance floors in New Orleans and was recently voted #3 Local DJ in The Gambit’s Best of 2025 and #2 in 2024. Together, the two are channeling their shared love of creativity, celebration, and community into something entirely new.
Dearly Beloved is more than a wedding — it’s a love letter to queer resilience, joy, and chosen family.
