KENNER — October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to honor survivors, support those in treatment, and emphasize the lifesaving importance of early detection. On Friday, October 24, 2025, supporters, survivors, and community members will gather at Chateau Golf & Country Club for the 2nd Annual Golf Tournament benefiting the Karen T. Stall Research + Breast Institute (KTSRBI). The event pairs a day of golf with the mission of advancing breast cancer research and providing critical support for patients in the Gulf Coast region.
The tournament will feature two flights, one at 7:30 AM and another at 1:30 PM, with participants enjoying friendly competition, food, drinks, raffles, and contests. Each golfer will also receive a commemorative gift. Registration and sponsorship opportunities are still available at https://ktsrbi.org.
“This tournament isn’t just about golf, it’s about coming together as a community,” said Phillip Truxillo, Tournament Chair. “Every swing, every putt helps give someone a better chance at early detection and the care they need. That’s what makes the day so meaningful.”
KTSRBI was founded by Karen T. Stall, a 24-year breast cancer survivor, who launched the nonprofit after experiencing firsthand the financial and emotional toll of treatment. Today, nearly all funds raised stay in Louisiana and the Gulf Coast, ensuring that the impact directly benefits local families.
