Ashley Hebert Joins Louisiana Policy Institute for Children as Senior Director of Strategy

BATON ROUGE – The Louisiana Policy Institute for Children (LPIC) is pleased to announce the hiring of Ashley Hebert, MPA, as the organization’s new Senior Director of Strategy. With a deep commitment to dismantling structural barriers that impact underserved communities, Ashley brings a wealth of experience in government relations and data-driven advocacy to LPIC’s leadership team.

With a career rooted in public policy, Hebert has worked with national, state, and local stakeholders to develop and advance equitable policies. Her advocacy spans critical areas like healthcare access, healthy eating, and broader efforts targeting the social determinants of health. This has earned her a reputation as a strategic thinker and collaborative leader, driving community-centered solutions that result in measurable impact.

“Ashley’s commitment to justice, deep policy expertise, and strategic mindset make her a natural fit for this role,” said Libbie Sonnier, PhD, chief executive officer for LPIC. “Her proven ability to build powerful coalitions and champion data-driven solutions will strengthen our work to improve outcomes for young children and families across Louisiana.”

Hebert’s influence extends beyond her policy work. She serves on the Advisory Board of the Louisiana State University Department of Public Administration and is a member of the National Black Professional Lobbyist Association, where she continues to mentor and advocate for emerging leaders in public service.

“I’m honored to join LPIC and contribute to an organization that centers children and families in its policy mission,” said Hebert. “I look forward to working alongside this incredible team to advance strategies that create lasting change for Louisiana’s youngest learners.”

Hebert earned her bachelor’s in political science and her master’s in public administration from Louisiana State University.
