NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Recreation Development (NORD) Commission is pleased to announce that Kid Café, a free after-school meal program for youth ages 18 and under, is now underway. In partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank, No Kid Hungry, and Share Our Strength, the program provides children in afterschool program sites across New Orleans with consistent access to nutritious meals during the school year.
Kid Café meals are available Mon. through Fri. from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at NORD Commission recreation centers:
- Cut-Off Recreation Center – 6600 Belgrade Street
- Desire/Florida Multi-Service Center – 3250 Industry Street
- Gernon Brown Recreation Center – 1001 Harrison Avenue
- Hunter’s Field Recreation Center – 1659 N. Claiborne Avenue
- Joe W. Brown Recreation Center – 5601 Read Boulevard
- Lyons Recreation Center – 624 Louisiana Avenue
- Milne Recreation Center – 5420 Franklin Avenue
- Morris F.X. Jeff Recreation Center – 2529 General Meyer Avenue
- Rosenwald Recreation Center – 1120 S. Broad Avenue
- Sanchez Multi-Service Center – 1616 Fats Domino Avenue
- Stallings St. Claude Recreation Center – 4300 St. Claude Avenue
- St. Bernard Recreation Center – 1500 Lafreniere Steet
- Treme Recreation Center – 900 N. Villere Street
