New Orleans School of Ballet Presents “The Nutcracker in New Orleans”

NEW ORLEANS – This holiday season, the New Orleans School of Ballet invites audiences to experience “The Nutcracker in New Orleans,” what they say is a reimagining of the beloved holiday ballet infused with the city’s unmistakable charm. Performances will take place Dec. 20–21 at 2 p.m. at Ursuline Academy, 2635 State St.

Organizers share, this production transforms Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece into a celebration of the city’s music, culture, and joy. From beignets and brass bands to Mardi Gras magic, “The Nutcracker in New Orleans” captures the heart of the Crescent City while preserving the beauty of classical ballet.

“The Nutcracker in New Orleans is more than a ballet – it’s a celebration of community and creativity,” said Nikki Hefko, director of the New Orleans School of Ballet. “Our dancers bring the magic of the season to life while honoring the city we call home.”

Audiences can expect dazzling costumes, rich storytelling, and live performances that transport them from the elegant streets of the French Quarter to the magical world of the Sugar Plum Fairy – all through the lens of New Orleans’ festive spirit.
