NEW ORLEANS – The Crescent City Chamber Music Festival (CCCMF) celebrates its Tenth Anniversary Season this year with the theme of “Novelty and Nostalgia.” CCCMF shares that this milestone season will feature seven Free Public Concerts from Oct. 10 – 19, offering a mix of popular performers and pieces from CCCMF’s first nine seasons and new artists and presentations.
“We’re going to celebrate our past Festival successes with nostalgic performances from fan favorites like the Escher Quartet and the Manhattan Chamber Players, who have been with us since the very beginning,” said Luke Fleming, the festival’s founder, artistic director, and violist. “But we are adding quite a bit of novelty to the mix – for example, the New Orleans debut of jazz vocalist and three-time JUNO Award winner Caity Gyorgy and her longtime partner and pianist Mark Limacher, performing alongside the Manhattan Chamber Players.”
Now in its 10th season, CCCMF says it continues to make world-class music accessible to the community—free of charge. Thanks to the support of individuals in the New Orleans community and grants awarded by the New Orleans Theatre Association and the Mike and Lynn Coatney Family Foundation, CCCMF has been able to fulfill its mission to bring more chamber music in both large and small formats to New Orleans, with performances featuring a collaboration of both outside and local artists, such as numerous members of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra. “The Festival has come a long way since its inception in 2016, and we are excited about its future in New Orleans,” said Fleming.
Community outreach has been an integral part of the CCCMF’s mission from its very first season. In addition to CCCMF’s Free Public Concerts, over the past decade, dozens of festival artists have performed over 400 outreach performances at schools, hospitals, retirement communities, missions, and other helping organizations throughout the Greater New Orleans area. CCCMF will continue that festival tradition again this year.
