Jefferson Parish to Host Career and Employment Expo on March 16th

JEFFERSON – The Jefferson Parish Workforce Development Board will host a Career and Employment Expo on Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Alario Center (2000 Segnette Boulevard, Westwego, LA 70094).

Employers will be on-site accepting applications and holding interviews for the following opportunities available to eligible Jefferson Parish residents:

  • Summer employment
  • Year-round work experience
  • Technical training and career development (available after school and weekends)
  • On-the-job training

In addition, the following courses will be available:

  • Commercial Driver’s License Program (CDL)
  • National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER)
  • Clinical Certified Medical Assistant
  • Welding
  • Machine instrumentation
  • General education
  • Culinary

Residents who plan to attend this expo must have copies of the following documents: Birth certificate, government-issued ID (with Jefferson Parish address listed) or school ID, Social Security card, income verification (check stubs, SNAP award letter, other government subsidy award letter). Please note: Minors under the age of 18 years old must be accompanied with a parent or guardian.
