NORD’s 2nd Annual Golf Tournament Rescheduled for Saturday, Oct. 7th

NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans today announced that after a successful debut in 2022, the New Orleans Recreation Development (NORD) Commission’s 2nd Annual Golf Tournament will take place Saturday, Oct. 7, beginning promptly at 8 a.m., at the Joseph Bartholomew Memorial Golf Course, (6514 Congress Drive). This tournament was originally scheduled for Saturday, May 20, 2023.

The tournament format is a four-person scramble with a shotgun start. Last year’s major tournament sponsors included Boh Brothers, Clear Crystal Management and Hahn Enterprises.

“We are excited to host NORD’s 2nd Annual Golf Tournament at the Joseph Bartholomew Memorial Golf Course,” said NORD CEO Larry Barabino, Jr. “I, along with the NORD Commission, look forward to welcoming our city’s amateur and professional golfers again to play for the cause. I hope this tournament will create a city and agency tradition that inspires more young people to learn and participate in the sport.”

“It is an honor to host NORD’s 2nd annual golf tournament and to raise funds for the NORD Foundation which makes valuable contributions to support programs and events for thousands of residents across the city every day,” said NORD Foundation Board Chairman Ernest Price, Jr. “We are grateful to each of our sponsors whose generous contributions help fulfill the NORD Foundation’s mission to facilitate investment in NORD, providing equal access to quality recreational opportunities for all New Orleanians.”

NORD’s golf tournament has been a great addition to the agencies fundraising arm, generating over $32,000 in its inaugural year. Funds from the tournament are used to assist NORD with continuing to offer programming to residents at no cost. There are still opportunities to support this wonderful event, including multiple sponsorship opportunities, individual player and team registration and silent auction donations. Proceeds from the tournament will go to the NORD Foundation and directly benefit NORD. For more information on tournament registration and sponsorship opportunities, please visit www.nordc.org.
