NEW ORLEANS — Celebrating a yearly tradition, the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl Luncheon will take place the day before the game, Wednesday, December 18th at the Marriott on Canal Street. Team spirit and college football pageantry will be on full display as both university bands perform, head coaches speak, and 2024 keynote speaker Ed Reed, a native of nearby St. Rose, Louisiana and Destrehan High School alumnus, addresses student athletes and attendees.
Ed Reed, Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee in 2019, is a former NFL safety known for his time with the Baltimore Ravens, where he won Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans. A two-time All-American at the University of Miami, he set NFL records for the longest interception returns and total interception return yards. Off the field, Ed is dedicated to community service through the Ed Reed Foundation, which provides opportunities and support for underserved children in Baltimore and New Orleans. His commitment to empowering youth reflects his belief in making a lasting impact in their lives.
