NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Recreation Development (NORD) Commission today announced a special sock hop event that they have planned for senior ages 55 and up.
The event will take place on Sunday, Oct. 13, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the Lafitte Greenway at the intersection N. Norman C. Francis Parkway. This fun-filled afternoon promises a nostalgic trip down memory lane with free admission, delicious food, door prizes, and music by DJ 2 Scoops.
Attendees can expect to dance to classic hits, enjoy socializing with friends, and partake in some good old-fashioned fun. Whether you are ready to show off your moves or simply want to sit back and soak in the lively atmosphere, this event is designed to bring the community together for a carefree afternoon.
“We are committed to offering something for everyone at NORD Commission, and the Sock Hop is a wonderful way to engage our seniors in a fun and social setting,” said Larry Barabino, Jr., CEO of NORD Commission. “Our goal is to create inclusive events that help people of all ages stay active, healthy, and connected to their community.”
