Morial Convention Center Senior Event Manager Receives CEM Designation

NEW ORLEANSCassie Jones, CVP, CEM, Senior Event Manager at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, has earned a Certification in Exhibition Management from the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE). The Certified in Exhibition Management (CEM) designation is a globally recognized designation that demonstrates the highest professional standard throughout the exhibition and event management arena. It was first created in 1975 to raise professional standards in the event industry and continues to be the premier mark of professional achievement.

Jones was awarded her CEM designation following the completion of a rigorous program designed to teach advanced concepts of exhibition management in several key areas, including topics in the fields of neuroscience of exhibitions and events, finance, marketing, security, and more. After completing this program, Jones passed a lengthy exam and later officially graduated from the program, walking on stage at the IAEE Expo! Expo! In Dallas, Texas.

“We could not be happier with the dedicated efforts that Cassie has demonstrated in earning her Certified in Exhibition Management designation,” said Michael J. Sawaya, Convention Center President and CEO. “It is one of our core values to support our staff in furthering their education and experience which in turn results in a greater value for our clients. The CEM designation illustrates that Cassie is dedicated to being the best in her chosen field of event management, and we applaud her for achieving this honorable distinction.”

The CEM designation marks Jones’ second professional designation. She became the first member of the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center’s Event Management Staff to earn a Certified Venue Professional (CVP) designation from the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM) in 2021.
