Louisiana Policy Institute for Children Welcomes Jordan Howard as Geaux Far Louisiana Project Director

BATON ROUGE – The Louisiana Policy Institute for Children (LPIC) proudly announces Jordan Howard, MSW, as the new Project Director of Geaux Far Louisiana. Geaux Far Louisiana is an initiative of LPIC that focuses on unifying Louisiana’s early childhood system to ensure families have access to seamless, high-quality early child development, health, and educational services.

Howard brings years of experience in macro-level social work, with a strong focus on mental health, community development, and public engagement. Her commitment to systems-level change and her community-first approach make her an ideal leader to shepherd the Geaux Far Project into its next chapter.

“Jordan’s position is a step forward for Geaux Far Louisiana,” said Libbie Sonnier, Ph.D., chief executive director of LPIC. “Her voice and previous experience make her an incredible advocate for Louisiana’s children and families. We are thrilled to welcome her to the team.”

A proud Baton Rouge native, Howard holds a master’s degree in social work from Louisiana State University and a bachelor’s degree in social work from Southern University. Her work has included developing research-informed programs, public awareness campaigns, and storytelling efforts that elevate the voices of historically marginalized populations.

“I’m honored to step into this role and lead purposefully,” said Howard. “Geaux Far Louisiana is more than an initiative; it’s a promise to our children and families that we’re listening, that we care, and that we’re committed to change. I look forward to working alongside communities to build a future where every child has a fair chance to succeed.”

As the Geaux Far Louisiana Project Director, Howard will lead collaborative efforts and strengthen cross-sector partnerships that support children and families statewide.
