NEW ORLEANS – KID smART, the New Orleans-based nonprofit dedicated to integrating arts education into public schools, proudly announces the addition of four new members to its board of directors: Seth Levine, Jeremy Jones, Keshara Powell and Erin Hymel, DDS.
“We are thrilled to welcome these remarkable individuals to our board,” said Elise Gallinot Goldman, executive director of KID smART. “Each brings unique experiences, expertise and passion that align with our mission to provide arts-rich education to students throughout New Orleans.”
Levine is a partner at Jones Walker, where his practice focuses primarily on the petrochemical and energy industries. With extensive experience in project infrastructure financing, land acquisitions and energy-related real estate matters, Seth provides critical insight into energy and petrochemical development, particularly around industrial projects such as LNG facilities and pipelines.
Jones serves as Executive Vice President and Head of Specialty Lending at Hancock Whitney Bank. His role involves overseeing the bank’s specialty lending portfolio, which includes healthcare, asset-based lending and equipment finance. His 25-year career in banking spans several major institutions, and he holds both a BBA from the University of Texas at Arlington and an MBA from Texas Christian University.
Powell is currently a student at the International High School of New Orleans and a graduate of the Bloomberg Arts Internship program. Originally from Kingston, Jamaica, she became involved with KID smART through this internship and now serves as a student representative on the board. Her passion for learning and the arts makes her an enthusiastic advocate for arts education in New Orleans.
Dr. Hymel, owner of Dentistry with Heart, began her career as a graphic designer before transitioning to dentistry. A graduate of Louisiana State University’s School of Dentistry, she currently serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Operative Dentistry at LSUHSC. She also operates a private dental practice in New Orleans, where she combines her passion for art and care.
Founded in 1999, KID smART has served more than 63,000 students and 11,000 teachers, providing underserved students with the opportunity to experience dynamic, creative, and relevant learning through the arts.
