Gov. Landry Appoints Stephen I. Dwyer as Board Chairman of Louisiana Housing Corporation

BATON ROUGE — The Louisiana Housing Corporation (LHC) team is extremely thankful for Governor Landry’s commitment to housing for the State of Louisiana. LHC is fortunate to have the leadership of Board Chairman Stephen Dwyer. He brings a wealth of knowledge to the agency. “Chairman Dwyer is exactly what LHC needs to bring housing systems into the position Governor Landry has envisioned,” said Executive Director Marjorianna Willman. “We also want to thank former Chairman Alfred Harrell for his continued contributions to LHC and the State of Louisiana.”

Mr. Stephen I. Dwyer is a graduate of Loyola University School of Law where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review.  He is admitted to practice in Louisiana and Texas and is a licensed title insurance agent. Mr. Dwyer practices in the areas of business transactions, business litigation, and commercial real estate development. He teaches real estate development law as a member of the Adjunct Faculty at Loyola University School of Law and is also a real estate lecturer. In addition, Mr. Dwyer serves as a member of the Board of Governors of the Louisiana State Bar Association.

About Louisiana Housing Corporation
The purpose of the LHC is to substantially increase the availability of affordable, accessible, and safe residential housing in Louisiana. The LHC was created in 2011 when the Louisiana Legislature merged the Louisiana Housing Finance Agency with housing programs from other state agencies to streamline how the state would address its housing needs, avoid duplication of efforts, and improve service to the general public. The LHC administers federal and state funds through programs designed to advance the development of energy-efficient and affordable housing for low- and moderate-income families, drives housing policy for Louisiana, and oversees the state’s Disaster Housing Task Force.
