Galatoire’s Earns “Best of Award of Excellence” For Wine Selection

NEW ORLEANSGalatoire’s Restaurant has made Wine Spectator’s Top 10 Burgundy list for its vast, diverse collection of Burgundy labels and named a 2023 Restaurant Award Winner earning the “Best of Award of Excellence” for their renowned 9,400-bottle wine selection.

Featuring acclaimed vintages, harder-to-find labels and a generous by-the-glass section, Galatoire’s Burgundy offerings span a broad range of price points to ensure there’s something for every guest. Across the list, patrons will find some of Burgundy’s best-known names, such as J.A. Ferret and Tollot-Beaut.

“We take great pride in our Burgundian selections from top producers, heralded around the globe,” said Galatoire’s Restaurant wine director Morgan Fouss. “We are continuously scouring distribution resources to expand our offerings from this exceptional region to our list.”

The “Best of Award of Excellence” winners are chosen for wine lists that display excellent breadth across multiple wine-growing regions and/or significant vertical depth of top producers, along with superior presentation. Known as destinations for serious wine lovers, winners in this category show a deep commitment to wine, both in the cellar and through their service team. These restaurants also provide training and educational opportunities for staff so that they can help customers make well-informed wine choices.

This year’s awards program recognized 3,500 dining destinations from all 50 states and more than 70 countries worldwide. Since 1981, the Wine Spectator Restaurant Awards have had three distinct levels: “Award of Excellence,” “Best of Award of Excellence” and “Grand Award.” Galatoire’s has earned the “Award of Excellence” every year from 2007 to 2010. From 2011 to 2020, and in 2023, the restaurant achieved the “Best of Award of Excellence.”

Galatoire’s will be featured in the August 31, 2023, issue of Wine Spectator, available on newsstands July 11.
