Emily Starr Joins Boys Town Louisiana as Director of Development

NEW ORLEANS – Boys Town Louisiana proudly announces the addition of Emily Hay Starr, PhD, as its new Director of Development. With an impressive track record in fundraising, strategic partnerships and nonprofit leadership, Dr. Starr will be pivotal in advancing Boys Town’s efforts to support at-risk youth and families throughout Louisiana.

Emily Hay Starr brings over a decade of dedicated service in development roles, including leadership positions at the Salvation Army New Orleans Area Command and 826 New Orleans. Her innovative approaches have consistently resulted in significant growth in donor engagement and funding, underscoring her commitment to community empowerment.

Dr. Starr expressed her enthusiasm for her new role stating, “I am honored to join Boys Town Louisiana as Director of Development. This organization plays a critical role in shaping the future of at-risk youth and I look forward to working with the team to advance our mission and make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families.”

In her role, Dr. Starr will lead fundraising initiatives, foster community partnerships and enhance donor relations, ensuring Boys Town Louisiana continues to provide crucial services to children and families in need.

An affiliate of the national Boys Town organization, Boys Town Louisiana is a “go-to” resource for vulnerable children and families in the New Orleans area, especially those hit hard by instability brought on by social and economic problems. Boys Town Louisiana opened in 1989, and today meets the needs of youth and families through a variety of Continuum of Care® services. The site offers Diagnostic and Assessment Services to provide immediate help to youth in dangerous situations. The site has three Family Homes for Adolescents in New Orleans and provides In-Home Family Services to troubled families.
