DDD is accepting nominations for Downtown Changemakers for Annual Honors

NEW ORLEANS – The Downtown Development District of the City of New Orleans has officially announced an open call for Downtown NOLA Award nominations. Each year, the prestigious Downtown NOLA Awards are a testament to the exceptional achievements of property owners, businesses, residents, workers, and organizations within the Downtown Development District. These awards not only celebrate the vibrance and vitality of the neighborhood but also recognize those who inspire, innovate, and achieve within it.

Any Downtown property owner, business, resident, worker, organization, or project is eligible to be nominated; however, projects must be 100% complete by the nomination deadline of June 7, 2024, at noon (12:00 PM). Downtown New Orleans is defined as the Pontchartrain Expressway to Iberville Street and the Mississippi River to Claiborne Avenue.

“DDD recognizes the extraordinary work being done Downtown and seeks to honor the people and
places that inspire and epitomize the heart of the Crescent City,” said DDD President & CEO Davon Barbour. “As the economic and cultural hub of the city, Downtown is home to not only the Central Business District but also cutting-edge innovation in the BioMedical District, a world-renown Arts District, the thriving Sports and Entertainment District set to take center stage in the coming months, and the exceptional restaurant and hospitality industry that New Orleans is famous for. We are excited to honor those who strive daily to make Downtown New Orleans a world-class destination.”

Nominees will be evaluated on the following criteria: Raising the Bar: establishing a high standard of excellence; Innovation: a novel and creative approach; Place-Making: working with, enhancing, or expanding Downtown's existing design; Collaboration: promoting collaboration within and/or between public and private partners; and Branding: integrating and amplifying the Downtown NOLA brand.
