Tales of the Cocktail Foundation Announces Mardi Gras Gives

One-time $250 direct payment to bartenders and barbacks

NEW ORLEANS — Mardi Gras is a time of reflection and celebration for New Orleans, but bar closures this year due to the pandemic greatly impacted the local bar community. In 2021, Tales of the Cocktail Foundation has paired up with Gambino’s King Cake Rum Cream, Gambino’s Bakery, Tequila Tromba USA, Republic National Distributing Company, Don Q Rum, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Rémy Cointreau, Edrington, and 375 Park Ave Spirits to provide direct payments to local bartenders affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The Mardi Gras Gives grant initiative will provide $62,500 in immediate relief funds to New Orleans’ furloughed and laid-off bartenders and barbacks affected by the COVID-19 pandemic with a one-time first-come, first-served $250 grant.

World Bartender Day acknowledges the craft of bartending and the contributions of bartenders to their local communities. And, we know that the innovation that our bartenders drive in NOLA reverberates globally. We are proud to support our local NOLA bartenders.
