Operation Restoration Sponsors Drive for Housing Clients

Bedding needed for women and girls impacted by incarceration

NEW ORLEANS Operation Restoration (OR), a New Orleans-based organization founded to support justice-impacted women and girls, is holding a donation drive on Saturday, November 23 for its Operation Housing program. Anyone wanting to support the effort can bring unused air mattresses, sheets, blankets, pillows and other bedding items to The Closet (3400 S. Claiborne Ave., Ste. E) from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Operation Housing helps connect formerly incarcerated and other women involved with the legal system to housing resources. One of the biggest barriers for women upon release from incarceration is locating safe, affordable housing. Across the US, access to decent housing continues to impact Black families, who are less likely to own homes than white families.

The Operation Housing Drive is held in partnership with Virtuous Women Social Club.
