NEW ORLEANS – There are many bars and restaurants around the city that have announced New Year’s Eve celebrations.
Palm&Pine
Ring in the New Year at Palm&Pine on Tuesday, Dec. 31, with a six-course prix fixe menu for $125++ per person from 5:30 – 10:45 p.m. The decadent menu features Oysters on the Half Shell with hibiscus, Aji Amarillo mignonette, and schmaltz; Nixta Creole Pumpkin with chicken liver mousse, farro, and winter greens; Pulpo and Cangrejo Salpicón with braised octopus, LA crab, jackfruit, and blue corn tostada; Cast Iron Seared Scallops with uni, coconut creamed rice, and green chili nuoc mam; and Duck à la Satsuma with foie gras scallion pancake, bok choi, and BBQ oyster mushrooms. End on a sweet note with Taleggio Semifreddo with brown butter chocolate chip cookie streusel. Pescetarian and Vegetarian menus are also available with advance notice. Osteria Lupo
NOLA’s favorite Northern Italian hotspot, Osteria Lupo, will offer a delectable family-style four-course New Year’s Eve tasting menu on Tuesday, Dec. 31, for $95 per person (excluding tax & gratuity). The first course (antipasti) is an Antipasti Plate — a selection of salumi, formaggi, and housemade antipasti. Pasta dishes include Angolotti Tartufo with black winter truffle ricotta and Grana Padano, and Lobster Risotto Milanese with saffron crema, seafood demi-glaze, and fine herbs. Third-course dishes include Veal Saltimbocca with lemon, caper, and sage, Milk Braised Rancho Gordo Beans with pickled raisin tapenade, and Insalata Mista with frisee, arugula, fennel, and local citrus. Costera
Gather your friends and family and head to Costera for a delicious New Year’s Eve tasting menu. On Tuesday, Dec. 31, the neighborhood restaurant will offer a festive four-course family-style tasting menu for $95 per person (excluding tax & gratuity). The first course includes Marinated Chanterelle and King Oyster Mushrooms, Baked LA Blue Crab and Fontina Dip with Lavash, and American Red Snapper Crudo with winter citrus and pistachio. The second course includes Crispy Pork Belly with spiced apple and fennel salad and Seared Jumbo Scallopwith sunchoke and parmesan. The third course features Braised Beef Short Ribs with pickled peppers and fresh herbs, Roasted Heirloom Carrot Salad with olive oil yogurt, and Creamy Parmesan Polenta with chili crisp. Diners can enjoy amuse — Deviled Eggs with white truffle, a first course of Tuna Tartare with satsuma, aji amarillo, and yucca, and the second-course dish features the Short Rib with Maine lobster, calaloo, and black truffle jus. The appetizer is Cotechino — lentils; entree dishes include White Truffle Risotto with shaved mushrooms and Barolo Braised Short Ribs with creamy polenta. Alma Cafe
Fuel up for NYE on Dec. 31 at Alma Cafe from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. The famed Honduran restaurant has you covered with a meal that is as vibrant and flavorful as the city itself. Visitors can indulge in signature dishes like Fritas Hondureñas — fried homemade flour tortillas with refried beans, homemade cream, and queso fresco; Baleada Sencilla — eggs, refried beans, homemade cream, queso fresco, and avocado served on a homemade flour tortilla; Bistec Encebollado with hand cut sirloin and caramelized onions served with black beans, and local jasmine rice infused with seasonal veggies; and Lemon Ricotta Pancakes — blueberry lemon ricotta pancakes with hoodoo liqueur syrup. On Tuesday, Dec. 31, Tujague’s – the second oldest restaurant in New Orleans – will offer a delicious four-course prix fixe New Year’s Eve menu prepared by Executive Chef Meg Gray for $95 per person (plus tax & gratuity); reservations are available from 5 – 9:30 p.m. Guests can indulge in the first course of Mushroom Crêpe with goat cheese topped with truffles, mushrooms, and a balsamic drizzle, followed by Seafood Gumbo with Louisiana popcorn rice. Third-course options include Pan-Roasted Pompano with crab and potato croquette, citrus pearl sauce, choupique caviar, frisée and roasted citrus salad; Pork Shank with Hoppin’ John, Abita braised collard greens, and cornbread croutons; Pan Seared Maple Leaf Duck Breast with confit risotto, and balsamic honey glaze; or Filet Mignon — herb crusted filet, sour cream and chive duchess potatoes, and herb pan sauce.
