NEW ORLEANS — The Mayor’s Neighborhood Engagement Office (NEO) and the New Orleans Recreation Development Commission (NORDC) are pleased to announce that the City of New Orleans has been awarded the 2025 Trash Receptacle Grant from state partners at Keep Louisiana Beautiful (KLB).
The KLB Trash Receptacle Grant is designed to reduce litter in communities across Louisiana by providing high-quality trash receptacles for placement in outdoor public spaces. This mission aligns with NEO’s Neighborhood Cares Initiative (NCI), which partners with NORDC to host Community Cares events at playgrounds across New Orleans. These events bring together residents, volunteers, resources, and awareness to enhance public spaces and improve quality of life.
Through this grant, the City of New Orleans will receive five KLB-branded trash receptacles, which will be placed at five NORDC playgrounds citywide. Each of these playgrounds has previously hosted an NCI Community Cares event.
