Mayor Cantrell’s Neighborhood Engagement Office Now Accepting Applications for CleanUpNOLA Community Impact Grants

NEW ORLEANS — The Mayor’s Neighborhood Engagement Office is now accepting applications for Community Impact Grants to help bring green infrastructure and beautification to New Orleans neighborhoods through CleanUpNOLA.

The CleanUpNOLA Community Impact Grant is designed to encourage residents to engage with their neighborhood by way of developing a beautification or “Green Infrastructure” project as a community. We encourage residents, organizations and community leaders to work together in an ongoing effort to maintain pride in their community and global well-being.

Applicants must meet each of the following criteria:

  • Be a member of any formal or informal neighborhood/community association
  • Be a resident of Orleans Parish
  • 18 years of age or older
  • 501(c)3  designation (for formal associations) or Federal tax ID number (for informal association)

To be considered for the grant, proposed projects should be feasible, inclusive and open to every resident in the neighborhood. Applications should include realistic project goals and details explaining specifically what the project will do, what it might cost, what it will do for the benefit of the entire neighborhood and a component focused on green infrastructure — tree planting, rain barrel installation, etc.

Once a grant is awarded, grantees will then participate in a community clean-up/green infrastructure workshop, appoint a neighborhood clean-up coordinator and work with the Neighborhood Engagement Office on next steps.

The application deadline is Monday, Dec. 6, 2021, by 5 p.m.
