City of New Orleans Department of Public Works Begins Construction on Florida Area Development Group C and D Roadwork Project

NEW ORLEANS – The City of New Orleans Department of Public Works (DPW) today announced the start of the Florida Area Development Group C and D Roadwork Project. This critical infrastructure improvement initiative is a part of the broader Joint Infrastructure Recovery Response (JIRR) Program, in partnership with the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans (SWBNO) and is funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The project is expected to be completed by summer 2025.

The scope of work includes significant upgrades to the area’s underground water and drainage lines. Additionally, the project includes the repaving of roadways, replacement of damaged sidewalks and driveway aprons, and the installation of ADA-compliant curb ramps at intersections to improve accessibility for all residents.

To ensure safety during construction, measures will be in place to assist both the construction teams and the surrounding community. This $9.9 million full reconstruction project was designed by AIMS Group, and construction is being handled by CMG Pipelines, Inc.

For more information or questions regarding the project, residents should contact the Office of Strategic Engagement & Special Projects at 504-658-7623 or via email at ose@nola.gov.

In an effort to provide more timely communication, the Office of Strategic Engagement & Special Projects is building a distribution list to send construction updates via text messaging.

To receive these updates, residents can sign up by texting “ROADWORK” to 77295 or by visiting ready.nola.gov/alerts to create a profile and select the “roadwork” alert list.
