NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans Department of Parks and Parkways is accepting applications for the 2025 Parks and Parkways Tree Planting Grant. The grant provides $225,000 in funding to nonprofit organizations in Orleans Parish to plant trees on public property throughout the city.
This grant supports nonprofit organizations in helping the City reach its goal of restoring and expanding the New Orleans urban forest by planting 40,000 new trees by 2030.
The average grant size is $20,000; however, grants may be larger or smaller.
Applicants must:
• Be a tax-exempt nonprofit organization located in Orleans Parish.
• Agree to install trees in accordance with the Department of Parks & Parkways’ specifications and guidelines.
The application deadline is Friday, May 30.
