NEW ORLEANS – The City of New Orleans today announced a moratorium on construction and utility work to go into effect beginning Dec. 1, throughout the 2025 Mardi Gras season.
During this period, contractors are strongly encouraged to complete any construction or utility projects by Nov. 30 or halt all construction and utility work until after Marid Gras, Tuesday, Mar. 4, 2025, to avoid conflicts with the moratorium.
This moratorium is essential to ensure minimal disruptions during the holiday, Superbowl, and the 2025 Mardi Gras season, keeping streets and sidewalks clear for residents and visitors.
