Meril Restaurant Launches ‘Eat the World’ Dinner Series

NEW ORLEANS – Get your passports ready and head over to Meril for its Eat the World dinner series. Launching Aug. 16, the restaurant will host six dinners to celebrate some of Chef Emeril Lagasse’s favorite places to visit, including:

  • Spain (August 16)
  • China (August 30)
  • Italy (September 13)
  • Sweden (September 26)
  • Cuba (October 11)
  • Korea (October 25)

The dinners are a nod to the popular Eat the World with Emeril Lagasse series on Amazon that debuted back in 2016. On the show, he embarked on global adventures with the world’s most celebrated chefs.

“Filming Eat the World was an incredible opportunity and happened around the time that we were developing the menu for Meril. Visiting these different countries and getting to know the food and the culture became a huge inspiration for a lot of the dishes at Meril today. I’m excited that we can give our guests an opportunity to embark on a culinary adventure of their own through this new dinner series. “

Each dinner will feature a three-course, family style menu with wine pairings unique to the culture and ingredients from each country. The experience will be further accentuated by authentic music and decorations inspired by each destination. Diners can expect to see Octopus Salad; Patatas Bravas; Manchego and Prosciutto Crostini; Shrimp, Scallop and Chorizo Paella; and Blood Orange Flan on the menu during their visit to Spain.

Guests are encouraged to travel the world with Meril. Those in attendance will receive a Meril Passport and a stamp for each Eat the World dinner they attend. Each stamp will provide a chance to win a $100 gift card to Meril for a future visit. Limited seating is available. Tickets are $65 per person (exclusive of tax and gratuity), with an optional wine pairing for $20. Reservations are required and can be made by calling (504) 526-3745 or on OpenTable.

Meril is currently open for dinner nightly starting at 5 p.m., lunch Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday brunch from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Reservations are encouraged.
