NEW ORLEANS – Copeland’s of New Orleans has launched its Local Catch promotion featuring fresh, made from scratch recipes. “We use local suppliers from all around Louisiana to bring us the freshest ingredients available,” said Al Copeland, Jr. “This year we partnered with Louisiana Seafood Board to shine attention on our local purveyors and help keep local Louisiana businesses top of mind.”
Last year Copeland’s of New Orleans spent $3.8 million supporting local vendors around Louisiana. “The Copeland’s family has celebrated Louisiana’s farmers, fishers, and producers from the first day they opened their doors,” said Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser. “They have worked with many of the same families for generations and continue those relationships today.”
The Local Catch promotion highlight dishes such as the hand-battered seafood platter made with wild-caught Louisiana oysters, shrimp, and blue crab crabcakes, served with French bread delivered fresh daily from Leidenheimer’s Bakery, and finished off with tartar or cocktail dipping sauce made with Crystal Hot Sauce. The crab and avocado stack is made with fresh jumbo lump crabmeat delivered by Harlon’s LA Fish. And for dessert, Copeland’s has strawberry biscuit shortcake made with farm fresh strawberries from Liuzza Farms in Tangipahoa Parish.
“When I think of the Copeland’s family of restaurants, I think of Harlon’s LA Fish as being a part of that family,” said Harlon Pearce, owner of Harlon’s LA Fish. “Their loyalty, not only to Harlon’s LA Fish, but to the great fishermen of Louisiana is instrumental to our successful partnership. Copeland’s has helped us weather the storm and together we will help local businesses stay successful.”
