NEW ORLEANS – Beggars Banquet will be hosting the Beggars Brunch with a Mardi Gras menu available for two weekends, February 22-23 and March 1-2 from 10:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Highlights of the brunch menu will include pear toast with sweet ricotta, roasted pears, hot honey and pecans; Crispy Firecracker Calamari with hot peppers, garlic, capers, olives, scallions, and balsamic. Entrees will include the Jam n Ham Beignet large freshly fried beignet with black forest ham, raspberry preserves, powdered sugar, and a sunny side up egg; stuffed french toast filled with cream cheese and fresh strawberries and drizzled with a strawberry sauce.
In addition, from now through Fat Tuesday the restaurant will offer Mardi Gras Muses a specialty cocktail menu with creative libations such as the Clio (History) with Sweet Gwendolyn Gin, sage, rosemary, and lime; Hades (Lord of the Underworld) with Lunazul Tequila, grapefruit, maraschino, Cointreau, and jalapeno; Polyhymnia (Sacred Poetry) with Vodka, Borghetti, espresso, and sea salt; Urania (Astronomy) with Wild Turkey 101 Rye, Dolin Rouge, fig, walnut, and Chinese five spice.
