Bar Peters Creates Back to School Cocktails

NEW ORLEANS – With the return of school on the horizon, teachers, school personnel and parents are kicking back into gear.

Nicole Gallardo, restaurant manager at Bar Peters and Poydras & Peters and mom of school-aged children, came up with two fun cocktails inspired by the return to school for a little stress-reliever during the back-to-school craze.

These two playful cocktails are available now through Labor Day weekend.

End of Summer Blues

  • 1.0 oz Malibu Rum
  • 0.75 oz Blue Curacao
  • 1.0 oz Pineapple Juice
  • 0.5 oz Almond Orgeat
  • 3-4 dashes El Guapo Summer Bitters

Combine all ingredients in a tin shaker, hard shake, strain into a Collins glass. Add fresh ice, top with Sprite.

Garnish: Teacher toothpick skewer, orange half-moon

Parent/Teacher Conference

  • 1.5 oz Blanco Tequila
  • 0.5 oz Watermelon Liqueur
  • 0.5 oz Agave
  • 0.5 oz Grenadine
  • 0.5 oz Lime Juice

Combine all ingredients in tin shaker, shake rigorously, strain over fresh ice in pre-salted glass

Garnish: Watermelon wedge
