METAIRIE — New Orleans native Victor Schmitt, who worked as an international fashion model, will sign copies of his memoir, JACK IN THE BOX, Finding MY Hidden Truth and Purpose in the Game of Life, at Barnes & Noble, 3721 Veterans Blvd. in Metairie, on Saturday, Aug. 5 at 12 noon.
As part of Barnes & Noble Metairie’s 27th Anniversary Author Celebration, Schmitt will talk with readers and autograph copies of the book that details his early life in New Orleans, his abusive childhood and his career as a model and actor in runway shows, print ads and commercials for the world’s top clothing designers. Dividing his material into “boxes,” Schmitt discusses his life and the greater issues of the day. The book includes a “box” of questions for readers or book clubs to consider as they go through the chapters, as well as an extensive resource list.
“My goal in sharing the story of my life is to initiate a great examination of your life. I encourage you to step back, take an objective view of the choices you’ve made up to this point, as well as who and what you’ve allowed to influence you,” Schmitt said.
Now residing in the greater New Orleans area, Schmitt is a writer, public speaker and presenter, editor, film producer and photographer, as well as the president of Victor’s International Model and Talent Management.
The book, published in 2022 by LMG Entertainment and printed by New Orleans-based printing company Pel Hughes, is available at the Metairie Barnes & Noble and online at https://www.victorlschmitt.net.
