NEW ORLEANS – The Sazerac House has announced a lineup of events for September in celebration of National Bourbon Heritage Month.
For Bourbon Heritage Month, a month-long recognition of bourbon as America’s “Native Spirit,” The Sazerac House rolled out some exclusive tastings that are sure to dazzle.
Though they celebrate Sazerac’s award-winning bourbons year-round, the September events will allow any guest – beginner or expert – to learn more about the history and culture of bourbon whiskey.
Drink & Learn: From Bourbon County to Bourbon Street
o Dates: Sept. 5 at 5:30 p.m., Sept. 25 at 6 p.m.
o Cost: $35
o Let’s raise a glass and celebrate this year’s bourbon heritage month with drinks historian Elizabeth Peace and discover how bourbon got from Kentucky all the way to New Orleans. Learn how this spirit shaped New Orleans drinking culture as you taste a special flight of bourbon.
· Bourbon for Beginners
o Dates: Sept. 6 at 7 p.m., Sept. 20 at 7 p.m.
o Cost: $35
o Join The Sazerac House for this welcoming, encouraging and exploratory introduction into the world of bourbon. This guided tasting class will teach bourbon beginners how to nose, taste and enjoy bourbon like an expert. Pours include Buffalo Trace Bourbon and a Bourbon Cocktail.
· The Legends of Buffalo Trace Distillery: Stagg Grid Tasting
o Dates: Sept. 7 at 6 p.m.
o Cost: $75
o The Legends of Bourbon Series offers guests an intimate setting to dive deep into the history of a bourbon giant whose legacy has shaped the Sazerac bourbon portfolio. This special tasting class invites guests to sip and savor an award-winning bourbon made at Sazerac owned Buffalo Trace Distillery. Pours include BTAC George T. Stagg, Stagg Jr. and Buffalo Trace Bourbon.
· The Legends of Buffalo Trace Distillery: Weller Grid Tasting
o Dates: Sept. 15 at 2 p.m.
o Cost: $75
o The Legends of Bourbon Series offers guests an intimate setting to dive deep into the history of a bourbon giant whose legacy has shaped the Sazerac bourbon portfolio. This special tasting class invites guests to sip and savor an award-winning bourbon made at Sazerac owned Buffalo Trace Distillery. Pours include Weller Special Reserve, Weller Antique and Weller Full Proof.
· The Legends of Bourbon: Blanton’s Grid Tasting
o Dates: Sept. 21 at 5:30 p.m.
o Cost: $75
o The Legends of Bourbon Series offers guests an intimate setting to dive deep into the history of a bourbon giant whose legacy has shaped the Sazerac bourbon portfolio. This special tasting class invites guests to sip and savor an award-winning bourbon made at Sazerac owned Buffalo Trace Distillery.
