“We look forward to providing a safe space for our friends, family and supporters to come together and celebrate music, a part of our community that has truly been missed during these hard times,” said Troy ‘Trombone Shorty’ Andrews. “We’re here to keep the music alive, but with safety as our top priority – whether celebrating in-person or streaming online, we want to provide a safe space for everyone to enjoy what makes this city so special.”

Headlined by Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue (who will take the stage at Tipitina’s for the first time since 2015), this year’s musical lineup features performances by Galactic with Anjelika “Jelly” Joseph, The Soul Rebels, Cuban sensation Cimafunk and special guests Tarriona “Tank” Ball and Big Chief Juan Pardo.

“During these trying times, we feel fortunate to partner with our friends with Galactic at Tipitina’s to produce an amazing show for our community and beyond,” said Bill Taylor, Founding Executive Director of the Trombone Shorty Foundation. “They have led the way in building a safe music space in New Orleans, and we’re excited to join in their efforts with a new take on Shorty Fest.”

“Tipitina’s is so excited to join forces with the Trombone Shorty Foundation to bring Shorty Fest Uptown,” said Robert Mercurio, Galactic’s bassist and co-owner of Tipitina’s. “This show will be one for the books!”

Shorty Fest is also thrilled to welcome Acura as the event’s Premier Sponsor for the fifth consecutive year!

“Acura is honored to partner with Trombone Shorty and the Shorty Foundation on an expanded Shorty Fest to create opportunities for the next-generation of NOLA’s musical artists,” said Jon Ikeda, vice president and Acura brand officer. “Acura has dedicated the past two decades to supporting New Orleans music and through our relationship with the Shorty Foundation we take real pride in helping spur the education and mentorship of some of NOLA’s most talented and creative young musicians.”
