Pussyfooters Blush Ball 2022 Set For Friday, January 28

NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Pussyfooters are turning 21!  Our ladies will be the first to admit it doesn’t take much to get them dancing in the streets, so the celebration of our 21st anniversary promises to be the biggest and best Blush Ball—a Party with a Purpose 2022!

On Friday, Jan. 28, at Generations Hall in New Orleans, the sold-out Blush Ball 2022 promises to be bigger and bolder than ever with proceeds once again going to benefit Metro Centers for Community Advocacy. With two rooms of music, we will dance the night away to The Boogiemen and their signature style of funky Rhythm and Blues, while DJ Ally Bea keeps the dance floor going with her eclectic mixes. Local celebrity and Pussyfooter extraordinaire, Fresh Johnson, will act as MC to keep the evening moving. Of course, it wouldn’t be a party without New Orleans’ favorite women in pink and orange so the evening’s entertainment will be rounded out with special performances by the Pussyfooters. Adding to the excitement, both a cash giveaway and a silent auction featuring some of New Orleans’ best restaurants, hotels, artists and retailers will be offered.

This year the Pussyfooters are honored to have PETER MAYER, THE MILAN LOUNGE, PENNINO & PARTNERS, BOURBON STREET BALCONY RENTALS, and EMPIRE STATE DELI sponsoring this fantastic event.

The iconic Pussyfooters are 130-plus members strong, women over 30, parading in their trademark pink plumage and corsets in nearly 50 parades, fundraisers and special events year-round and the Blush Ball embodies the energy and passion of this dynamic group of women. This annual signature event has raised more than $120,000 for Metro in the past seven years.  The Pussyfooters’ support for Metro Centers for Community Advocacy was a natural fit for this group that encourages empowerment, self-confidence and sisterhood. But make no mistake — they have a good time doing it.

Founded in New Orleans in 2001, the Pussyfooters led the way for the boom in women’s (and men’s) dance groups. But the ladies are quick to point out they were not the first—they got their inspiration from and are grateful to the original women of New Orleans’ unique parading and second line culture, especially the Baby Dolls. The Pussyfooters’ motto is: “We are Majorettes from the Mothership sent here to help the party people get their groove on!”
