JEFFERSON – NOLA Gold Rugby, in partnership with the Jefferson Parish, will be kicking-off the 2023 season in true Louisiana fashion, with a pre-match Mardi Gras Festival on Friday, February 17, 2023 at the Shrine on Airline (6000 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA 70003). Set to open the NOLA Gold season against the New England Free Jacks, this home game promises to be a day of purple, green and gold both on and off the field.
The pre-match festival will start with a pre-game tailgate located in Lot E of The Shrine on Airline from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., with a live performance by The Bucktown All-Stars and half-priced beer for adults. From the tailgate area, fans will be able to join in on a second line that will proceed from the tailgate area, onto the field and into the stands. To end the night, there will be a firework show after the ending of the game.
“We are excited to be able to partner with NOLA Gold Rugby to host this wonderful event for the residents of Jefferson Parish to enjoy,” said Councilman Deano Bonano. “We are about to enter the heart of Mardi Gras season and this festival will meet all the requirements to ‘laissez le bon temps rouler’ while also supporting our NOLA Gold team.”
The discounted admission for this game in the Tryzone area is $13 per person, free for youth ages 3-12.
