NAMIWalks Southeast Louisiana Hosts Walking Event October in Audubon Park

NEW ORLEANS – Last year, 47% of Louisiana residents reported symptoms of anxiety or depression, yet nearly 20% were unable to access counseling or therapy. Each year NAMIWalks brings together hundreds of community members to increase awareness, decrease stigma and raise funds for vital, free mental health supports and services. NAMIWalks is so much more than a fundraising event, it is a connection to our neighbors and a means of support for one another.

In 2023, more than 900 walk participants helped to raise crucial funds that provided free support for more than 53,000 community members impacted by mental health conditions. Work with us to normalize getting help for mental well-being by registering to be a part of the 2024 NAMIWalks SELA-Southshore.

Registration is FREE! Participants can walk as individual or create a team of friends, family and co-workers, to help us reach the goal of $160,000 to support free programs, resources and clinical services for community members impacted by mental health issues. All donations remain in the local community and help increase access to services for anyone in need.

Join us to raise awareness and funds for FREE mental health care in our community.
