The second annual Real Gunkie Fashion Festival moves to the Bossier Civic Center with sponsorship from the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau
BOSSIER CITY — One of Louisiana’s most successful fashion designers is hosting her second annual fashion festival at the Bossier City Civic Center. The 2021 event was sold out and this year’s lineup promises to be equally as impressive.

WHY: The Real Gunkie Fashion Festival: Season II will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at the Bossier Civic Center in Bossier City. The Real Gunkie Fashion Festival made its debut in August 2021 and returns to showcase all things Louisiana fashion including models, fashion designers, a fashion show, educational fashion segments, retail experts, live entertainment, local and out-of-town vendors, and so much more. This is also an opportunity to network with like-minded people and indulge in fashion and fun. This will be the most talked-about event of the season. Last year, seating sold out twice so we are excited to be back this year with a bigger and better event.
Lead Designer Tki Francis is a Shreveport/Bossier native and an Airline High School graduate. Tki graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a BS in Fashion Merchandising and Consumer Studies where she pledged Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Upon graduation and moving to New Orleans where she currently resides, her most notable accomplishments are as follows:
- Top 5 Finalist in Fashion Prize Fest
- Featured Designer during Los Angeles Fashion Week
- Featured Designer during New York Fashion Week
- Published designer in CIE Fashion Magazine based in Los Angeles
- Published stylist in 7 Hues Magazine
- Featured Alumni for the School of Human Ecology at Louisiana Tech University

With meeting space for 10 to 3,000, Bossier Civic Center features a 7,000-sq.-ft. banquet hall, 24,000 square feet of open exhibit space, in-house decorating for trade shows, full-service catering kitchen, 635 free parking spaces, and more.
