Latin American Culture in The Spotlight at Audubon Zoo’s Celebración Latina

NEW ORLEANS – Latin American culture will be in the spotlight as Celebración Latina Presented by Pan-American Life Insurance Group returns to Audubon Zoo on Sunday, Sept. 24. This beloved cultural event offers guests the opportunity to enjoy one of New Orleans’ biggest celebrations of Latin cultures while exploring the diversity of animals at Audubon Zoo.

Celebración Latina will offer a true taste of the Latin American culture with Latin cuisine prepared and sold by New Orleans area restaurants, live music, special conservation programming and activities. The celebration lasts from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the last ticket sold for Zoo admission will be at 4:00 p.m.

A full day of live entertainment kicks off with popular salsa band Muevelo at 11 a.m., music continues throughout the day and concludes with Los Güiros at 3:30 p.m. All music performances will be on the Zoo’s Capital One Stage.

11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.      Muevelo
12:15 p.m. – 1:15 p.m.         DJ Felipe Estrada – DJ Set
1:45 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.            Julio y Cesar
3:30 p.m. – 4:45 p.m.            Los Güiros

While enjoying the festivities, guests can stroll through Audubon Zoo and visit Central/South American animals such as jaguars, spider monkeys, alpacas, prehensile-tailed porcupines, tapirs, ocelots, and more.

Festival activities are included in regular Audubon Zoo admission. Audubon Nature Institute Members are admitted free of charge. No outside food or beverages are allowed in Audubon Zoo for Celebración Latina. Portable chairs and blankets are welcome.
