This year, there will also be two new krewes rolling on the west bank of Jefferson Parish.

Founded in 2023, the coed Mystic Krewe of Music, will roll the streets of Marrero on Monday, Feb. 5, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. The inaugural parade theme is “Music Around the World”, which will include references to rock, gospel and even Christmas music but this krewe won’t just feature the musical themes, there will be live music too!

Established in 2022, the all-women’s Krewe of Nandi, the name of mother of the Zulu Nation, will roll on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 6:00 p.m. in Marrero. The krewe’s inaugural theme is “Tipping a Teacup” and their motto is “Love Her, Cherish Her, Empower Her.” Their purpose is to combine their passion for Mardi Gras with their passion for community services.
