NEW ORLEANS – The 504 Festival proudly announces the details of the inaugural festival sponsored by a host of local partners. The free festival will take place Saturday, Sept. 24, from 1:00 – 6:00 p.m. at NORD’s Rosenwald Park and Recreation center located at 1120 S. Broad St. The first-time festival will feature live music, food vendors, a car and bike show, family workouts, kids zone and a basketball tournament featuring special guests. The free five-hour event will bring together families in the Mid City community to enjoy a day of fun for a good cause.
Lyisha Allen, founder of Prom 4 NOLA, and Alton Alexis, owner of The Bundle Gang Hair Company, created the festival to directly support the local non-profit organization aimed at providing opportunities for New Orleans’ youth to learn about teamwork, respect and improve self-esteem through teaching discipline and leadership skills. Every year the organization will give more than 30 Orleans Parish high school seniors an all-expense paid senior prom experience. Nominations for young men and women deserving of receiving the ultimate prom experience including formalwear, hair and makeup are now being accepted at www.prom4nola.com.
