NEW ORLEANS — Today, the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy announces the return of HispaNOLA Live!, a Geaux Live NOLA series, powered by Embrace the Culture Virtual Series and sponsored by the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy, starting Oct. 15, 2021, for a six-week weekly performance in virtual space from the New Orleans Jazz Museum. “We want to uplift creative people to increase opportunities, stimulate the economy, and preserve traditions through a virtual experience. Our culture bearers serve as a beacon light of hope, and we value the importance of bringing artistic expressions directly to you safe at home,” said Lisa Alexis, Director of the Office of Cultural Economy.
HispaNOLA Live! is a celebration of New Orleans’ rich Latin culture. From the city’s music, to the architecture, the food and its people, the Latin flavor is woven throughout the vibrant tapestry of New Orleans. In conjunction with the City of New Orleans, Office of Cultural Economy, HispaNOLA Live! aims to shine a light on just some of the talented culture bearers in the Latin community. This is one of the first events the Office of Cultural Economy is having to celebrate the start of Hispanic Heritage Month.
The Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy presents “Embrace the Culture,” its virtual series to showcase and support local expressions of art via visual arts, literary arts, film, music, crafts, fashion, and the culinary world and from a collaborative diverse group of artists.
