Culture Collision at The Jefferson Performing Arts Center August 28th

NEW ORLEANS – Now in its 14th year, Culture Collision will kick off the 2024-2025 metro New Orleans cultural season on Wednesday, Aug. 28, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Jefferson Performing Arts Center, located at 6400 Airline Dr. in Metairie.

Presented by WWNO and hosted by Jefferson Performing Arts, this one-of-a-kind cultural celebration brings together patrons and artists for a self-guided tour of New Orleans’ arts, culture, and humanities nonprofit organizations.

Free and open to all, guests will stroll throughout the Jefferson Performing Arts Center to engage with over 50 nonprofit organizations that help make New Orleans’ vibrant culture. Ranging from the classical arts institutions to resourceful contemporary newcomers, this happy hour event reflects the diversity of New Orleans’ creative community.

Guests can look forward to an exhibition of the powerful, creative energy of the city, along with food trucks, drink specials, free giveaways, exclusive promotions, live performances, and free parking.

WWNO launched Culture Collision in 2008 to raise awareness of the significant impact of the cultural community on the local economy and to provide a platform for collaboration and promotion among cultural organizations.

“From its first year, Culture Collision has featured the broadest range of New Orleans’ cultural endeavors,” said Paul Maassen, WWNO general manager. “WWNO is proud that Culture Collision is at the intersection of so many streams of local artistic expression.”

Support for Culture Collision has been provided by Bougie Bologna and Pugh Accardo, LLC.
