University of Holy Cross and Delgado Add New Credit Transfer Agreement for Respiratory Care Technology Students

NEW ORLEANS — The University of Holy Cross (UHC) and Delgado Community College today signed an articulation agreement between their Health Science and Allied Health departments making it easier for students studying Respiratory Care Technology to transfer credits from Delgado to UHC.

Beginning in the fall 2021 semester, the new five-year agreement will allow students who complete Delgado’s Associate of Applied Science in Respiratory Care Technology to transfer into UHC’s Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences Degree Curriculum for Respiratory Therapists. Students who transfer from Delgado to UHC with this new 2+2 program will be enrolled as juniors in UHC’s College of Nursing and Health Sciences.

The agreement was announced and signed today by UHC President Dr. Stanton F. McNeely III, and Delgado Community College Chancellor Dr. Larissa Littleton-Steib.

“This new articulation agreement with Delgado Community College will provide current Delgado students studying Respiratory Care Technology the opportunity to transfer seamlessly to UHC,” said UHC President Dr. Stanton F. McNeely III. “Our goal is to prepare students in becoming productive members of our community as well as promote the academic development and improvement in the quality of life of the citizens in the region.”

Both Delgado and UHC are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care.

“Delgado Community College is grateful to the faculty and administration at the University of Holy Cross for opening this pathway for Delgado students to continue their education with a bachelor’s degree,” said Delgado Chancellor Dr. Littleton-Steib. “This new agreement is part of the growing, productive, and very beneficial partnership between our two institutions.”

The articulation agreement between UHC and Delgado marks one of many articulation agreements signed between the two schools over the past several years.
