Four-day conference for educators aims to better integrate arts into teaching
NEW ORLEANS – KID smART is hosting its inaugural Arts & Education Conference: Education Through Imagination June 25-28 at The Higgins Hotel in New Orleans. This four-day conference will allow educators to immerse themselves in an experience that transcends traditional education, fostering creativity and igniting a passion for learning.
“The conference is a regional gathering, connecting a diverse group of artists and educators,” said Elise Gallinot Goldman, executive director of KID smART. “It will allow educators to gain insights, strategies and innovations in successful arts-integrated learning through curated learning cohorts lead by experts in the field. We are extremely excited to bring this opportunity to our community of educators.”
With four distinct tracks to choose from, educators can delve deep into areas that specifically resonate with them, ensuring a fulfilling and enriching conference experience. The four tracks feature arts literacy, arts integration 101, social emotional learning and the arts and L.E.A.D (Leaders Experiencing Artist Discovers).
The Arts & Education Conference will feature breakout sessions and panel discussions led by local and national arts partners. The last day of the conference will culminate with a joint discussion around policy and advocacy for arts education by the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts from Washington, DC.
There are multiple different conference package options, but general admission for the four-day conference is $325.
