October 24 marks Proclamation of Statewide Red Beans & Rice Day

Cajun Country Rice and Camellia Beans team up to put Red Beans & Rice on every table in the state — Louisiana-grandmother approved

BATON ROUGE —

WHAT: Join us at the steps of the Capitol on Monday, October 24, 2022, as Gov. John Bel Edwards signs the official Proclamation declaring Red Beans & Rice Day across the state of Louisiana. Cajun Country Rice and Camellia Beans welcome Gov. Edwards’ efforts to spread the Red Beans & Rice love, keeping this century-old tradition alive.

In conjunction with Red Beans & Rice Mondays, the two brands have partnered with Second Harvest and Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank to make meal donations to those in need, based on purchases of Cajun Country Rice and Camellia Beans through Oct. 28. Following the proclamation and check presentation, Red Beans & Rice will be served to those in attendance.

WHO: Media, local dignitaries and members of the general public are invited to the reading of the Proclamation.

WHEN: October 24, 2022

TIME: The Governor will read the proclamation at 11 a.m.
