Crescent City ID Program Kicks Off Citywide Enrollment at Public Launch

NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans Office of Human Rights & Equity today announced the public launch of the new Crescent City ID Program, a groundbreaking initiative designed to ensure that all residents have access to a secure, City-issued identification card. The program expands access to vital City services and supports the local economy by strengthening community engagement and financial inclusion.

The official launch event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Treme Recreation Community Center (900 N. Villere St.), where residents will have their first opportunity to apply for and receive a Crescent City ID.

About the Crescent City ID

The Crescent City ID is an all-in-one card that functions as:

  • A New Orleans Public Library card
  • A NORD recreation card
  • A discount card at participating local businesses

From neighborhood coffee shops to cultural venues, businesses across New Orleans are offering Crescent City ID holders exclusive savings and benefits—keeping dollars local and fostering community pride.

Launch Event Highlights

This event marks the first opportunity for residents to apply as part of the program’s initial wave. In addition to enrollment, the launch will include:

  • A City and community resource fair
  • Live music
  • Giveaways (while supplies last)

Residents are encouraged to enjoy the celebration and connect with local resources—even if they do not plan to apply for an ID on-site.
