NEW ORLEANS – National Buttermilk Biscuit Day, May 14, is an essential national holiday for Copeland’s of New Orleans. Al Copeland, Sr. first took the risk of introducing his biscuit recipe in his Popeyes restaurants which were known primarily for its famous proprietary spicy fried chicken recipe. They became an iconic staple and increased sales by twenty percent. Al’s passion for food led him to open Louisiana-owned and operated restaurant, Copeland’s of New Orleans, with an updated buttermilk biscuit recipe made from scratch with locally sourced dairy from Kleinpeter Dairy Farms. For over 37 years, Copeland’s has served the buttermilk biscuit with every entrée.
“My dad spent years perfecting his recipe for the famous buttermilk biscuit –it was a turning point in his restaurant business and today has an increased following,” said Al Copeland, Jr. “In honor of this national food holiday, we invite you to come in and enjoy a fluffy, buttery signature buttermilk biscuit served with every entrée.”
Copeland’s of New Orleans has 12 locations throughout Louisiana, Texas, Georgia, and Florida. To get more information or view a menu, visit CopelandsOfNewOrleans.com.
